The Architectural Photography Almanac Awards is an annual photography competition created for and by architectural photographers. It is judged by professionals working in the fields of architecture, publishing, and museum curation.

Not only is it absolutely humbling to see how incredible the up-and-coming new wave of architectural photographers are, but I get to spend time with the winner each year in a one-on-one workshop in order to develop their business skills and photography practice.

We have learned so much over the last two years and are proud to launch what is surely our best competition yet. We remain committed to being the only photography competition solely by and for architectural photographers. Given the unique criteria by which professional architectural photography is commissioned and created, it must be judged with a critical eye, and as a result the majority of “architectural photography” contests have not done the best job of accurately judging architectural photography.

At last, we’ve reached our final category of winners to announce – the 2022 Project of the Year award. Project of the Year is our most highly rewarded category, with a cash prize of $2500 USD going to the winner along with our Project of the Year Award Winner trophy, while the runner-up receives $500 USD and our slightly smaller (but still awesome) 2nd place trophy.
