Ten Ways to Get the Most out of Your Tripod
Tripods are not the most glamorous bits of gear that many photographers own. In fact, I generally hate using a tripod. Not because it doesn’t produce the results I want, it’s just such a pain to carry around; especially the heavier ones which are also, unfortunately, the more useful ones. Still, for work we do they’re pretty much a requirement.
In the latest video from one of my all-time favorite YouTubers, Kai Wong demonstrates ten tips to help you use your tripod “like a boss”. Honesty, I’m just impressed he came up with ten tips. I mean before watching the video I couldn’t even think of five. Nonetheless, this video does offer some very useful insights on how to make sure you get the most out of your tripod. The more useful tips are the ones related to ensuring your tripod doesn’t tip over. Tripods do keep our cameras and lenses secure and I think it’s important to keep these tips in mind.
Of course, if you’re a seasoned professional with years of experience, the this may be obvious. If however, you’re starting out or looking at purchasing your first tripod to shoot architecture then it might be wise to consider the tips offered in this video.
Check out the full video linked above and in the meantime, I’ll come up with a list of things that make me hate tripods.
