Learn From Architectural Photography Master Nick Merrick at SFW On Location

Nick Merrick is one of the most revered names in architectural photography, and it is easy to see why. With a long a storied career at Hedrich Blessing and his own firm Hall+Merrick+McCaughery, you can find Nick’s photography “in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Chicago History Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the George Eastman House as well as published in prestigious design journals and firm monographs.”

Nick Merrick will be teaching a 5-day workshop at Santa Fe Workshops this summer entitled “Architectural Photography: Beauty + Structure.” The course spans August 1st through August 5th, 2022. SFW notes that the course is “for photographers with experience in architectural photography, [where] we discuss the aesthetic issues of image design and its relationship to the architectural subject matter. We cover both the technical and aesthetic issues of lighting; how light direction and intensity creates a sense of movement within the visual illusion of 3-dimensional space and moves us toward the creation of interpretative photographs.”
